Dear musician friends!
I have decided that I will NOT be booking any recording sessions in May outside of finishing up projects that I'm currently in the middle of. I'm going to be spending the rest of April wrapping up projects, and then I'm going to take time to focus on releasing my new music, and MOST importantly spend much needed quality time with my fiancee and our friends before my wedding at the end of May.
It's been an amazing year having the Soundcave, and I'm so thankful that I've had the opportunity to help out so many awesome bands and artists. But right now I'm on mental and emotional overload, and I can't continue to spend 8+ hours a day working on projects for other people. I need to draw the line and create some space to re-evaluate my goals and to see if this is even what I want to be doing with my life. Thanks to everybody who I've worked with over the past few months. It's been rad.
Between 5/8/15 and 6/15/15 I am not going to respond to new emails, or recording related phone calls, or anything. Hope that you all can understand!
Welcome to Soundcave Productions, a recording studio and creative space located in downtown Salt Lake City!
My name is Andrew and I’m a musician, engineer, and producer from Salt Lake City. I’ve been playing music for almost my whole life, and engineering and producing records for several years now. After recording tons of bands in my basement over several years, I outgrew my space and decided to move my studio to a space in downtown Salt Lake in the Summer of 2014. I've recorded and/or mixed 30+ albums over the past 5 years, in addition to many singles and other projects.
I have a passion for sonic experimentation and I love to get creative with my recordings. I want to make your band sound unique and my first priority in my work is to create an emotional response in the listener. There are a lot of great recording studios with piles of sweet gear and skilled engineers, but you can easily waste thousands of dollars by giving it to someone who can’t tap into the vibe of your project. My goal as an engineer is to help you give your album character in addition to making it sound "professional".
I’m available for a variety of services including engineering, producing, mixing & mastering, etc. Check out the samples page of the site to hear some of my work and see if I would be a good fit for your project. Don’t hesitate to contact me using the contact form if you have any questions. I look forward to working with you or your band!
I’ve played with many different bands and as a solo artist over the years. If you’d like to check out some of my tunes, my current projects are great interstate and your meteor. You can also listen to my solo work here.
Note on equipment: I run a Pro Tools system with a modest but tasteful collection of high quality preamps and microphones. A full gear list is available upon request for you nerdy types, contact me if you have any questions.
